By going to elementary school I learned; how to tie my shoe, how to make friends, how to spell, how to write in cursive, how to print, how to use kidpix, my ABC’s, how to be happy. By going to middle school I learned; how to swear, how to do algebra, how to mismanage my time, how to procrastinate, how to define my real friends from the fake ones, how to stand up for myself, how to be the person I wouldn’t even recognize years down the road; the person I promised I’d never be. In high school I learned; who I wanna be some day, why things suck so much, why people have multiple faces, why things happen the way they do. And well the rest, I’m still trying to figure that out. But what no amount of education can teach me is, how to stand up on my feet when I fall short, how to regain myself after I fall apart, how to fix a broken heart, why people hurt each other with no reason as to why, why people don’t think before they act, why life isn’t fair, or anything. The difference between school and life? In school, you’re taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson.
